Rice Recipe with Korean Chicken

Ingredients
  

For the Chicken:

  • 700 g boneless chicken cubed
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp crushed black pepper
  • 1/2 cup corn flour

For the Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 3 tbsp red chili flakes
  • 1/4 tsp salt or to taste
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 3 tbsp water

For Cooking:

  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 tbsp grated ginger
  • 1/2 tbsp grated garlic

For Garnishing:

  • Chopped green onions as required
  • Sesame seeds as required

Instructions
 

Step 1: Preparing the Chicken

  • Place chicken cubes in a bowl.
  • Add sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  • Add corn flour and coat the chicken evenly.

Step 2: Fry the Chicken

  • Heat 3/4 cup of oil in a frying pan.
  • Fry chicken pieces for 2–3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove and drain on paper towels.

Step 3: Prepare the Sauce

  • In a bowl, mix honey, soy sauce, vinegar, red chili flakes, salt, sesame oil, and water. Whisk well.

Step 4: Cook Aromatics

  • Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan.
  • Sauté grated ginger and garlic for 1 minute.

Step 5: Combine Sauce and Chicken

  • Pour the prepared sauce into the pan and cook until it thickens.
  • Add the fried chicken and mix until fully coated.

Step 6: Garnish and Serve

  • Serve the chicken with cooked rice.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
